About Me

NOTHING WORTH HAVING COMES EASY

This quote hangs in my office and is a simple reminder that I see every day to help me keep things in perspective. For me, not only is it a daily motivator to keep grinding, but also a phrase that has helped mold me as the coach and man I am today.

To put it simply, my name is Matt Schoepflin and I am a hockey coach.

As it probably goes for many of you, I began to build my passion for hockey at a young age. Starting to skate at the age of two and playing through my college years, hockey has always been a huge part of my life. Making several choices around the sport I love has built character in ways I could have never imagined- moving away from home- living in a large city- maturing from player to coach- all decisions that have led me to where I stand in the game today.

For nearly the last decade, I have become enthralled with giving back to the game I love through coaching. Helping players improve and find their passion for the game is a driving force for me.

In my experience thus far, I have been fortunate enough to learn how to cope with disappointment, overcome obstacles, and also win championships, coach tremendous players, and be surrounded by incredible hockey minds.

I am here to share my experiences, knowledge, and love for the game.

I am currently in my sixth season as the head coach of Ralston Valley High School’s Varsity Hockey Team.

Over the past five seasons, we have compiled a record of 101-9-2 and won two state championships.
